The Dipsea Hall of Fame was established in 1993. It honors those outstanding runners, volunteers, and others who set standards of performance and determination in the race or who
have made important contributions that have helped to establish the Dipsea as a much admired community institution.
Their accomplishments guide our mission to protect, preserve and promote the race.
The more we can learn and preserve about these individuals, the better we can appreciate and maintain the race and the trail.
For this reason we have begun a program to collect and organize historical materials and stories about past and current races.
One part of this effort is to conduct audio interviews with as many Hall of
Famers as we can. Those stories will be edited and saved in our archives. The first product of this effort
will be in the form of an audio CD. This will contain excerpts from an interview with Hall of Famer, Jerry Hauke., long-time race director. Dipsea Race Foundation
Director, Michael Creedman conducted the interview and edited the CD. We hope
to eventually find and interview all the surviving Hall of
Famers in the area.
